IEEPA Trade Measures
The International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) allows the US to impose economic sanctions and trade restrictions in response to national emergencies or threats. Such measures can be reflected in the HTS under Chapter 99 and may include additional duties, quotas, or import restrictions by country of origin.
Current status: the IEEPA tariffs were invalidated by the Supreme Court on February 20, 2026 (Learning Resources v. Trump), so they no longer apply to current entries. We preserve the historical rates: pass a pre-cutoff as_of date to the resolve endpoint to see the IEEPA duty that applied at the time. If you paid IEEPA duties, see our guide to IEEPA tariff refunds via CBP's CAPE portal.
Other additional duties (e.g. Section 301, 232) are returned alongside base tariffs by our resolve API. Use GET /api/v1/tariffs/resolve with hts and origin to see full results.
